Mtatsminda Run 2026 has successfully concluded!
We would like to extend our special thanks to the Towerrunning World Association (TWA) for granting our event an international license and featuring the competition within the international towerrunning community.
This year’s event clearly demonstrated the great potential for the development of towerrunning in Georgia. At the same time, to become more competitive internationally, it is important for Georgian athletes to gain more experience by participating in high-level international competitions.
One of our key goals for the future is to bring the world’s leading elite towerrunners to Georgia. Their participation would raise the competition to an even higher sporting level, strengthen its international significance, and give local athletes a unique opportunity to compete alongside some of the world’s best and gain valuable experience.
Mtatsminda Run 2026 was awarded 60 ranking points by the TWA. This is an important first step toward giving Georgian athletes the opportunity to enter the world towerrunning rankings by competing in events held here in Georgia. Georgian athletes can also register for and participate in international towerrunning competitions held in different countries around the world.
We would like to express our special gratitude to Tbilisi City Hall for its financial support, which made a significant contribution to organizing the event on this scale. We also thank Imedi TV’s morning program for covering the event live on air.
Our goal is not simply to organize a competition. We want to encourage more people to discover stair running and an active lifestyle. Even choosing the stairs in everyday life is a great way to increase physical activity and build toward better results in the future.
One particularly inspiring highlight this year was our 3-year-old participant, who completed the entire course without assistance from their parents, finishing in an impressive 26:45.9!
A huge thank you to every participant who took on the Mtatsminda challenge this year! Your energy, determination, and enthusiasm are what make this event truly special. Whether you were competing for a top result or simply challenging yourself, every step you took contributed to the spirit of Mtatsminda Run 2026. We hope to see you back on the stairs next year!
This is only the beginning. Bigger competitions and even better results are ahead!

Another annual event "Mtatsminda Arbeni" was successfully held at 600 steps. This year we had 142 registered participants, the oldest became 71 years old and the youngest became 6. The best result of the competition was 5:38 in men and 7:31 in women. Despite the low temperature (14 C) the results were quite good. The awarding ceremony was held in both the absolute category and in the age category.

Our traditional event of “Mtatsminda 600 stair run” was hold with success. Copmpetition went with good vibes, air temperature was ideal at 20℃. Participants were from Georgia and 60 athletes from abroad. Youngest participant was 5 years old and oldest 86 years old, which made event more interesting.

We want to thank “Georgian Mountain Running Federation” for assisting, fixing exact results, also Mtatsminda Park for hosting it and all who assisted us and especially athletes, I think we all created very memorable day.
